Advancing Biomedical Careers: Strategies for F and K Award Success is a two-day virtual outreach event hosted by the Office of Research Training and Special Programs (ORTSP), Division of Extramural Activities (DEA), NIAID, on May 6-7, 2026. Designed for early career investigators, the program will clarify the NIH application and peer review process and highlight the key elements of competitive F and K award applications. Sessions will cover NIAID research priorities, strategies for developing strong proposals, and effective use of NIH tools and resources. Participants will gain insight from NIAID program staff and Scientific Review Officers from the Center for Scientific Review (CSR) on how applications are evaluated and how to approach submissions and resubmissions. Interactive breakout sessions will offer opportunities to engage directly with program officers and review staff for tailored guidance.
